New workstreams to the ECB digital euro scheme Rulebook Development Group opened – application deadline 22 May 2023

The ECB opens further workstreams to the digital euro scheme Rulebook Development Group (RDG), who is drafting the rules for the digital euro. VDT supports applications.

The ECB has opened two new workstreams to the digital euro scheme Rulebook Development Group (RDG):

• Workstream A1: Identification and authentication – focusing on the functional side of the distribution scheme. Technical experts of this workstream will be tasked with setting out recommendations on strong customer authentication (SCA) rules, taking into consideration already existing identification and authentication solutions.

• Workstream C1: Scheme infrastructure-related requirements – tasked with elaborating recommendations on the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity requirements to be implemented by payment service providers (PSPs) for the distribution of the digital euro. 

The deadline for applications for both workstreams is 22 May 2023. For further information see the ECB website links above.
